Problem
Solution
For this freelance project for Cory Graham, who is a travel agent for the company Where’s Walter. I was able to take on the project on creating a business card, the properly represents Where’s Walters branding as well as fitting a simplistic, professional travel theme inline with Cory Grahams individual logo. The first design solution would be to find a simplistic design that addresses both individual branding of company and travel agent.
The first step in my design process would be to establish the background color and theme for the front and back of the card. I wanted to go with this blue color as it matches Cory Grahams other marketing assets as well as the flyer I was able to work on for him. This blue also matches the same color within his individual logo, I then added in a lighter spotlight gradient overlap to give this card more depth. As well as give it a professional aesthetic that is in line with his individual branding.
The next step in the design process would be to experiment with some different shapes and image masks to give the card the proper traveling aesthetic. With the background being a nice blue color I think this would blend and work well with a similar ocean vacation image. The purpose of the real image is to also compliment the company’s branding, solving the design question on implementing both brands.
For this project I was able to work with Cory Graham, on creating some flyer designs to advertise his client work as a travel agent. Providing some guidance and assistance with scheduling/handling luxury vacation trips. He is an agent for the travel company Where’s Walter Travel, the scope of this project is to create some simple flyers to be used to advertise his services during events or for online marketing.
The challenge for this project is to create a couple marketing elements for Cory Graham from scratch. At the moment for this project, Cory Graham only needed a simple and easy to pass out travel flyer to market himself as a new travel agent, as well as business card to get himself started. While utilizing an already existing logo design.
The approach for this project was at least straight forward, with allowing me full creative control. With this approach and with Cory Graham as a relatively new travel agent, I wanted these two marketing assets to start the process of establishing a brand guidelines for future marketing graphics. With this approach I wanted the front of the flyer and overall business card design to be simple and straight to the point. To allow Cory Graham to work on marketing himself and getting his services noticed as quickly as possible. With overall market research for design trends showing an appeal for clean aesthetics and use of imagery to convey information or general theme of services instead of relying on heavy text information. With that I wanted to utilize the color blue from Cory’s existing logo as the main color scheme and work on a more simplistic professional design rather then over branding the graphic. The backside of the flyer was also decided to showcase a minimal amount of information to be later updated with new text depending on updated services to Cory’s career or to include seasonal event information.
